The series comes to a close, and a new BCHL Champion will be named as the Surrey Eagles failed to win the fifth, and first elimination game after losing both games on the road to the Alberni Valley Bulldogs.

Alberni got on the board first with a goal by Zeke Nicholson, which was later equalled by Surrey’s Ryan Evenhuis. With a scoreless second, the game would need to be decided by the third period, which was eventful in favour of the Bulldogs. The visitors found the first two goals of the frame before Gavin Rocha brought the Eagles within one with just over half the period to work with. But a goal by Alberni’s Jacob Terpstra with less than seven minutes to go seemed to take the life out of the building and the Eagles, who managed to bring the game within one courtesy of captain Jackson Anderson on the powerplay, but weren’t able to get that all too elusive tying goal.
