The reigning BCHL Champions won a big second game at home to even the series against the challengers, the Alberni Valley Bulldogs.

Scoring came in bunches for the home team after Miles Burgin got the team off to the kind of start they needed 1:17 seconds into the game. Ryan Evenhuis followed that up three minutes later to extend Surrey’s first lead in the series. Forward Massimo Fazio found the net for the third time that period for the home team to close out the ideal first-period performance following a game one loss, in which the offence struggled.

Both teams split the second period as Burgin cashed in for his second of the game before Cole Bishop brought the lead back down to three goals. However, defenceman Carter Frankiw restored the four-goal lead with an empty netter after the Bulldogs tried to pull their goal to rally an attack. A strong offence performance combined with a solid showing in the pipes for Fischer, stopping 24 of 25 shots faced, put Surrey right back into the series with a chance to come back to South Surrey Arena on top.
