About Us
The Surrey Eagles are a Junior A hockey club, and are proud members of the British Columbia Hockey League. We play our home games at South Surrey Arena, offering both premier development opportunities for our players, and fast-paced, affordable entertainment for the whole family.
Values
The Eagles believe very strongly in developing young players both on and off the ice. Dedicated to a solid work ethic and team commitment, club management works tirelessly to ensure Surrey players realize their academic potential and maintain the highest of educational standards in addition to pursuing the advancement of their hockey careers. As well as sending numerous players on to academic scholarships, many former Eagles have gone on to play pro hockey across North America and Europe.
Legacy
Over the past 3 decades, the Eagles have won four league championships, two Doyle Cup Championships, a Western Canada Cup Championship, and the most coveted prize in Junior A hockey, the National Junior A Championship. The BCHL is the highest level of hockey a young man can play while still maintaining eligibility for NCAA scholarships. As well as developing National Hockey League stars such as Brett Hull, Paul Kariya, and former Surrey Eagle Scott Gomez, the BCHL has produced countless players who have received full ride scholarships to Universities and colleges across North America. Gomez, Brandon Tanev, Devon Toews and Danton Heinen are just some of the prospects the club has helped to promote.
Playing an up-tempo game featuring fast skating, hard hitting and precise passing, the Eagles have emerged as one of the premier junior hockey programs in North America.
