November 8, 2024 Surrey vs Chilliwack:
Chilliwack comes into the nest on fire. They sit on top of the Coastal Division riding a three-game win streak, in which they have scored 20 goals. The Eagles defense will surely be tested as the Chiefs currently lead the BCHL in goals with 70 across 16 games thanks to Brady Milburn who has 13 points during a 9-game point streak. However, The Eagles goal scoring has returned with the help of Brady Kudrick’s 3 goals in the last 2 games and a 3 point explosion against the Express last Thursday. Surrey is currently 8-7 to start the season but this is the first matchup of the season versus a tough Chilliwack squad.
November 15, 2024 Surrey vs Victoria:
The Grizzlies come to town after beating the Eagles 4-1 in Victoria. Surrey struggled to get anything going against a big Grizzlies team that held them to only 23 shots, almost half of which came in the third. Victoria is a defensively sound team with some game-breakers such as Drew Hockley who leads all defencemen in scoring so far this season as well as Chase Pirtle who currently sits with 19 points on the season, 8 of which being goals. The Eagles will also need to find a way to deal with Alex Hebblethwaite, who in his last game at South Surrey Arena was wearing a Nanaimo Clippers jersey and put away 4 goals. Surrey will be hungry to find more offence at home this time around.
November 16, 2024 Surrey vs Cowichan Valley:
The Cowichan Valley Capitals and former Eagles head coach Cam Keith come back to the nest for the second time this season for their third date with the Eagles of the season. Last time at South Surrey Arena back in September, Surrey was able to put up quite the show as they scored 6 goals on 32 shots leading them to a 6-3 win. However, other than Brady Kudrick who had an amazing 2 goals and 2 assists, the other star of the show for the Eagles was Jaiden Sharma who dominated, stopping 31 of 34 shots and shutting the door down the stretch leading the Eagles to win in a game in which they where out-shot. Surrey will look to help their goaltenders once again in this one, as last time in Cowichan they came up short losing 4-1.
November 24, 2024 Surrey vs Langley:
We’ve got a mainland rivalry coming up as the Langley Rivermen come to the nest with some new fire power with Sebastian Bradshaw and Jackson “the Thrill” Krill from the Coquitlam Express. Krill has shown immediate impact with an assist in his first game as a Rivermen, as well as slotting into a top 6 role. The rivalry is very much alive this season with this being the fourth meeting of the year between the two, one of which being a nail bitter ending in a Surrey shootout win. The most recent matchup between them was on Punjabi night where we saw a barn burner ending in a 5-4 win for the Eagles. Surrey got off to a fast start going up 3-1 at the end of the first thanks to powerplay tallies from Cam Caron and Brady Kudrick. Special teams will be a theme between these two teams as there were a combined 5 power play goals last time after Langley clawed their way back into the game, scoring 3 times on the powerplay, 2 of which came in the third. Russian born Ilya Rogovsky Langley’s top rookie will look to show up big time again, as he had 2 assists against Surrey and has had 7 points since coming over to the BCHL. Surrey will try and stay disciplined as well as continue to improve defensively in this heated rivalry
